Giant Food has immediate job openings for dependable CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely operate a tractor trailer and deliver various products to an assigned route schedule. Using a positive, friendly attitude, our drivers build relationships with our store teams and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of warehouse-related equipment (i.e. pallet jacks, highlifts, forklifts, batteries, etc). This keeps day and night warehouse operations functional to ensure efficient shipping and receiving of product.

- Perform necessary repairs and maintenance to warehouse-related equipment (i.e. pallet jacks, highlifts, forklifts, etc.) to insure that adequate machinery is available for day and night warehouse operations.

Ensures the safe and timely delivery of concrete to the customer at the proper slump and to the proper job site. This can also include beginning the order process for additional orders and encouraging the customer to utilize value added ingredients such as fiber, retardant, color or other additives. Returns to the assigned batch plant in a timely manner for additional loads.
POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for delivering products to customers. Loads and unloads the truck in a safe and timely manner according to UNFI procedures. Minimizes delays and reports problems. Picks up supplies and back-hauls from vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
♦ Performs pre and post trip inspections of vehicle utilizing knowledge of safe and effective loading and handling procedures. Reviews paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Checks orders for correct number of boxes, correct addresses, and support documentation.
Wages and Hours
· HOME NIGHTLY!
· $21.25 to start and $22.00 after one year; annual progressions to $26.00 after 5 years
· Overtime pay
· Average of 40 to 46 hours per week
· All trailers are equipped with power jacks, dock and lift gate deliveries
· 6 paid holidays per year
· After 90 days, weekly accrual of 3.07 Paid Time Off (PTO) hours
3 OTR Drivers Needed!
5 – 5.5 days out per week
Usually leave Sunday afternoon, back by Friday night
Rotating dedicated routes hauling our own products
Peterbilt trucks with sleepers

Single driver runs – No teams
Some stops on routes – driver unload sort/segregate, Other stops lumper/warehouse unload
Drivers do not load their own trucks
Backhauls on most routes include company purchased products and some paid backhauls
The route delivery driver will safely drive a company tractor trailer to unload/deliver various products and render customer service to Orion Food Service store locations on an assigned route schedule.
Drives a tractor with one or more trailers (18-wheel) on public streets or highways to transport materials and merchandise. May load or unload truck using Moffett and Skytrak equipment. Drivers are responsible for securing the load using approved devices and methods. Requires a valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL).
