Job Description

Job Summary:

The Production Manager will oversee the daily production operations. This includes directing supervisors, leads and employees to meet the objectives and to work safely at all times. They will Oversee and direct operations to ensure that product quality and production standards are being met.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the selection and training of operations staff.
  • Oversees and directs daily workflow and schedules for all operations departments as assigned.
  • Participates in the performance evaluation process providing constructive feedback.
  • Participates in the discipline process when necessary.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and directs processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Ensures that employees are properly trained to meet quality standards and parameters for products.
  • Communicates adherence or issues with quality standards to QA team, production team, and other appropriate staff.
  • Stays aware of product testing results and works with team to adjust as necessary to meet Customer specifications.
  • Identifies and participates in the analysis of issues, performance problems, specification deviations, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues. Takes responsibility for executing decisions or changes identified through the problem-solving process.
  • Ensures that operations maintain compliance with Customer Specifications and expectations, and with all federal, state, local regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management or business or comparable experience.
  • Five years of experience in meat process or related field required with supervisory experience.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular periods of standing and walking in a cooler environment (35 to 45 degrees F)
  • Regular periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Ability to move in, around and under equipment.
