JOB SUMMARY

Oversees management of all areas of production to manufacture products on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•Manages the daily operation of the production plant.

• Upholds organizational policies and standards, ensuring regulations are followed.

• Manages full time production staff.

• Estimates worker hour requirements to meet production schedule and prepares schedules.

• Maintains labor timekeeping and reporting.

• Implements Safety, Quality and Food Safety objectives in the production plant.

• Implements continuous improvement projects and activities.

• Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to systems and procedures to improve productivity and reduce cost.

• Assists director in preparing annual operating plans.

• Monitors and controls production operations in accordance with plans and budgets.

• Estimates quantities of raw materials, supplies and equipment needed.

• Conducts plant tours and assists with regulatory and independent audits.

• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Knowledge of foods manufacturing and production, safety, sanitation.

• Strong organization skills to work effectively with others at all levels internally and externally.

• Ability to multi-task and manage concurrent responsibilities and meet established timelines.

• Ability to plan and direct the work of others.

• Ability to use good judgement and communicate effectively at all levels inside the company.

• Ability to use equipment, tools, and machinery and solve complex problems.

• Familiar with ISO standards.

• Knowledge of supervisory practices, GMPs, SOPs and health and safety programs.

• Must be proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook.

•Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Speaking Spanish is a plus.

EDUCATION

B.S. in Business Administration or Related Field

TRAINING

• Human Resources

• Food safety specific training

• GMP training

• HACCP training

• ISO training

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in food industry/manufacturing environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Direct supervision over production staff. Evaluate performance reviews.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position may push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work performed in a production facility with exposure to machinery and high noise levels. Some extended hour and on-call status required.
