 POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the direct report of the operations manager at the site this position will be responsible for HPP Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities at the Malvern, PA location.  

This position is responsible for managing the refrigerated spaces while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements of the ammonia (NH3) refrigeration system.  This position is responsible for consistent uninterrupted production with safe quality storage of the retail foods as well as safe continuous operation of the NH3 refrigeration system while adhering to compliance.

 Role Qualifications:

  • Possess proficient mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills (PLC, HMI and SCADA system and control circuits) and emergency repair skills.
  • Ability to identify and repair issues with all equipment and machinery, including finding innovative solutions to recurring problems.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word skills required.
  • Ability to use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, PMs, and inventory.
  • Basic math skills: to include fractions, decimals, percentages and the metric system; efficient with ratios and formulas.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to properly use measurement instruments included but not limited to hydraulic and electrical.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficient fabrication and welding skills.
  • Ability to safely work with ultra-high pressure equipment.
  • Willing to take responsibility for results while reliably showing good judgment, initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Highly organized and works well under pressure.
  • Team player with a positive, helpful attitude.
  • Ability to cross-train other Mechanics as well as Production personnel.
  • Willing to work on various shifts and/or extended shift hours as business demands require, primary 1st shift.
  • Electrical or HVAC certification preferred.
  • We are looking for a hands on working maintenance supervisor.

Position Summary:

      •    Coordinate system adjustments/operations to process needs or requests

      •    Coordinate renovation to refrigeration equipment and schedule NH3 system services

      •    Perform as Facility PSM/RMP coordinator, maintaining compliance activities and documentation with

            all Federal, State and Local regulations

      •    Train and educate ammonia technician(s) to conduct safe system operations

      •    Evaluate NH3 refrigeration equipment while operating

      •    Provide technical support when obstacles are encountered and on-call to guide and support team members.

      •    Coordinate emergency planning and response

      •    Perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on all UPC equipment

            and efficiently troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime and to maximize uptime.\

      •   Perform troubleshooting duties as needed to ensure machine efficiency is maintained.

       •   Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures and regulations

       •   Is responsible for all other duties as assigned including documentation (recordkeeping) and parts

             ordering.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Work Environment:

This job operates in the plant operations department located within a manufacturing facility.  The environment and work duties may change on a rapid basis to ensure machine operations are at desired efficiency.

Physical Demands:

This is largely a role which requires ability to work at different levels and is physical in nature. This would require the ability to routinely lift and carry 50 pounds, and the ability to bend/stand/stoop to perform job tasks.

This is a full-time position. Core days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with flexibility to schedule required when workload demands change, including weekends.

Required Education and Experience

  • AAS Degree in Electronics, Electromechanical, or related field of study
  • RETA Certifications (CIRO/CARO) and technical expertise in Ammonia Refrigeration (NH3)
  • 5+ years previous experience required
