The route delivery driver will safely drive a company tractor trailer to unload/deliver various products and render customer service to Orion Land Mark Food Service store locations on an assigned route schedule.

Essential Functions

Requirements:

Safely operates Company vehicle to deliver product in a timely, efficient manner, per Orion Land Mark delivery schedule.

• Operates Tractor-Trailer (Semi and other company vehicles) compliant of DOT regulations.

• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.

• Completes paperwork required by State and Federal law and Company policy.

• Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.

• Maintains confidentiality regarding the product being delivered

. • Maintains a “check sheet or operational follow up sheet” indicating condition of locations, with the sheet given to the Transportation Manager for attention. • Assures each location receives the correct quantity. if product is damaged or not available for delivery, a credit is issued.

• Communicate the successful delivery of products to Transportaion Manager.

• Contacts each store advising personnel of scheduled time for delivery.

• Maintains Blue Tree electronic log system.

• Takes necessary and reasonable steps to deal with situations, as they develop to promote customer relations

. • Knowledge of necessary reports required by state laws.

• Requires the ability to use a handcart/dolly to deliver food from a truck ramp. Completes accident investigations, licensing, mileage reporting, database maintenance and vehicle file maintenance. • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

• Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.

• Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business

• Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public

• Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management.

• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Competencies:

• Education and/or Experience. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have at least one-year verifiable driving experience with minimum of 100,000 miles driven, dealing with road and weather conditions with no serious moving violations. Class A CDL certification is mandatory. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. No recent moving or driving violations.

• Communication/Language Skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is a must. Ability to read and comprehend documents, simple instructions and product labels.

• Technical Competencies. Experience & knowledge in MS Office products (Excel & Word) and XATA electronic log system preferred.

• Certifications. Must have a valid driver’s license to operate truck along with a Class A CDL license.

• Mathematical Skills. Strong analytical skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts along with performing basic math functions.

• Reasoning Abilities. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Strong analytical skills with ability to identify opportunities.
