Position Summary:

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the day to day engineering requirements of a growing manufacturing operation. This would include monitoring current process and procedures, identifying and implementing improvement plans, developing new processes and assuring compliance with environmental and worker safety.

A typical day might include the following:

  • Working with our internal and external resources to revamp major plant facilities (refrigeration, hydraulics, electrical, etc.) 
  • Researching, specifying, acquiring and installing processing and packaging equipment.
  • Documenting new modified facilities and processes using Computer Aided Design software (CAD).
  • Providing technical support on projects reliant to Production, Maintenance and R&D.
  • Leading the continuous improvement of our production processes.
  • Working with the Environmental Health & Safety group to engineer out potential hazards to provide a safe working environment for our #1 asset, our employees.
  • Assuring Food Safety & Environmental Safety.

This job might be for you if:

  • You enjoy collaborating with other departments and can relate complex ideas to them in non-technical terms
  • You are a Technology Champion. You stay current on the latest technologies and can recommend & implement them to improve our manufacturing processes.
  • You’ve had experience as an Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Plant Engineer or Facilities Engineer
  • You have a minimum of 5 years experience in the food industry including experience working in frozen food processing. You’ll get us really excited if you’ve worked with Seafood before.
  • You know what NH3 is. We have lots of refrigerated cold space and process freezers and we need Engineers to make sure the systems are installed working properly! (Yes HR had to look that up)
  • You believe in a good education and so do we. We’d like you to have a minimum of a BS in Engineering whether its Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical (or related).
  • You are open to travelling as needed by the business
