Your Opportunity

Performs repairs and troubleshooting on food processing equipment to include, but not limited to: stuffers, vacuum pumps, mixers, grinders, packaging machinery, conveyors, hydraulic units, multivacs, and ovens.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Installs replacement belts, filters, gears, chains and valves.
  • Rebuilds valves, pumps and gearboxes.
  • Troubleshoots pneumatic, electric and hydraulic machine problems and makes necessary repairs.
  • Performs repairs to machines involving machine guarding, bolt replacement, breakdowns due to mechanical wear and plumbing.
  • Welds machine components.
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts, drives chains, etc.
  • Handles installations, including hooking up air, water, gas and the alignment and leveling of equipment.
  • Complete ALL repair slips given on a daily basis and communicate to the Maintenance Manager if tasks cannot be accomplished before leaving.
  • Complete established preventative maintenance duties on a daily basis.
  • Basic understanding of how steam works.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1+ years of related experience and/or training in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment; or 4 years’ direct experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing maintenance environment.
  • Vocational Diploma, Technical Diploma or Associate's Degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school, a plus.
  • Possess the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift or scissor lift.
  • Can understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to read, write the following; work orders, instructions, daily reports and machine manuals.
  • Ability to receive and relate orders/information using various communication devices.
