DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Repair, maintain and install plant electrical systems, equipment, and machinery as assigned.  There will be approximately 80% maintenance & repair work and 20% installation.  Reports to the Facility Maintenance Manager. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repair, maintain and install all electrical systems (3-phase 480/240 V and single-phase 240/120 V) for the plant including processing and refrigeration equipment. 
  • Assure safe work practices.
  • Coordinate work with other departments.
  • Prompt, reliable and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Troubleshoot
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Facility Maintenance Manager.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Industrial Electrical Journeyman license in Alaska or reciprocating state
  • Experienced with motors, controllers and PLCs.
  • Experienced with general plant maintenance.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm and sprinkler systems or willingness to learn them.
  • Able to work well with other departments.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to work and live in a remote area.
  • Prompt, reliable and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

DURATION:  Early March – Late August (Dependent upon Pre/Post Seasonal Projects)
