Job Description

  • Perform regular assigned checks.
  • Keep logs up to date.

  • Proper start-up and shut-down of plant equipment.

  • Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety and personal hygiene
  • rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • May be required to work any shift, any and all days of the week, or overtime in
  • accordance with production and maintenance schedules.
  • Ability to perform NH3 check and repairs from starting point to end use of chilled, H20, glycol, air systems
  • Active member in PSM Team functions including Mechanical Integrity, Process Hazard Analysis, Management of Change, etc.
  • Troubleshooting of non-refrigerated infrastructure and repair of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical equipment associated with the facility i.e., wastewater system/chemicals
  • Documenting work through CMMS-PMs and Work Orders. (Environmental reports, etc.)
  • Adhere to all company policies, plant rules and regulations, and safety rules and regulations as detailed in the Employee Handbook;
  • Comply with WSDA, OSHA, EPA, and all other regulatory agencies;
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices to prevent product contamination;
  • Work overtime as required; and work “off-shifts” to cover departmental vacations by other techs.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by Engineering Department/PSM. Job Qualifications

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years verifiable experience in ammonia (NH3) refrigeration and compressor room operation training or equivalent
  • Knowledge in industrial electricity, PLCs, microprocessors and associated components is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in environmental safety, PSM, and PHA
  • Prefer experienced candidates having steam and hot water boilers, plumbing, welding, vacuum systems, compressed air, fluid hydraulics, and pneumatic backgrounds.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical refrigeration or equivalent studies.
  • Minimum 2 years verifiable work associated with ammonia refrigeration or equivalent.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PM Programs, CMMS System.
  • Special Knowledge, Abilities, Skills
  • Physically able to occasionally lift/carry 100 pounds.
  • Physically able to walk/stand 100% of work time.
  • Must be capable of climbing onto and into process and packaging equipment for inspection, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Desired candidate will possess a strong work ethic self-starter and require minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work any and all shifts as required by maintenance/production schedule.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions Work Orders, PMs, OEM manuals and material safety data sheets
  • Ability to understand verbal instructions in English
  • Ability to read and write in English to safely utilize lockout/tag out and confined space entry program
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in English both orally and in writing.
