General:
Refrigeration technician supports and maintains the industrial refrigeration systems of a state-of-the-art turkey processing plant. The position reports to the refrigeration supervisor w/ primary work schedule of 12-hr, 2-day on / 2-day off straight days or straight nights with flexibility to work early/ late shift, overtime, and weekends, as needed.
Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
Successfully employs experience and knowledge in the operation, testing, documentation for refrigeration systems
Routinely applies working knowledge of industrial refrigeration equipment and processes to safely install, start up, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration equipment to prevent downtime
Performs refrigeration PM / PSM program tasks, including documentation completion
Oversees and coordinates resources for PM and repairs of refrigeration systems / equipment
Ensures refrigeration system compliance with state and federal regulations and code; promotes a safe work environment for self and staff.
Assists supervisor/co-workers w/ repairs; openly shares refrigeration knowledge with others
Works with minimal supervision and brings continuous improvement suggestions for refrigeration and other systems to appropriate resources
Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
Skills/Abilities/Attributes:
Working knowledge of refrigeration systems
Solid understanding of refrigeration systems and regulations (preferred/ not required)
Detailed-oriented; able to work in fast-paced environment
Team player and w/ strong communication & interpersonal skills;
Physical Requirements:
Lift / move up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 50 lbs.
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, stoop up to 10 hrs./shift
Work safely in hot, cold, wet environment e.g. 35-40 / 100 degrees
Exposure to low & high voltage equipment
