PM Supervisor (Sanitation, Production and Maintenance)

Reports To: Department Manager

Schedule: Based on the production schedule; During Peak, Monday-Saturday. Off Peak, Monday-Friday

Scope of the Role:

The PM supervisor will be responsible for managing the operation during the shift. Based on production needs it could be; Production, Sanitation and or Maintenance.

Sanitation; The supervisor will manage a team of about 20 contracted employees through their onsite supervisor. The focus will be to ensure all DEVANCO Foods SQF, HACCP, Master Sanitation, USDA guidelines and GMPs are adhered to.

Production; The supervisor may need to complete a production run with DEVANCO employees or “charge the line” for production once released from the pre-op inspection.

Maintenance; Should a failure or PMs be identified, the supervisor will arrange for the necessary skills to evaluate the equipment and complete the repair to either finish a production run or prepare the line for the next day.

Training Provided and Demonstrated Knowledge:

As a new Night Shift Supervisor, you will train by shadowing across all the plant departments (Quality, USDA, Maintenance, Production, Warehouse) learning each area as well as the sanitation area. Further, a qualification and demonstration period will be completed to verify grasp of the material and work procedures

To be successful you will have to lead by example, be organized, have an appropriate sense of urgency, communicate well (verbal and written) and follow the current DEVANCO Foods work processes.

Position Responsibilities:

· Lead by example and adhere to Devanco Foods’s SQF, HACCP, USDA and Master Sanitation programs.

· Supervise 3rd party sanitation crew to follow safe work practices including PPEs, chemical handling, times/temperatures, lock out tag out and vessel procedures.

· Set the Equipment Cleaning and Master Sanitation Schedule for planning and scheduling of department work.

· Investigate and follow up on all sanitation issues which could result in contamination, reduction of product shelf-life, customer complaints and rejection of products.

· Conduct inspections, and verifications of all equipment cleaned and sanitized (pumps, valves, systems control systems and more).

· Work with Quality Assurance Manager and on-site 3rd party Sanitation Supervisor to develop and improve on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and techniques to verify and validate the effectiveness of all sanitation work.

· Improve on and ensure that the best known equipment/ process protective measures are in use to minimize DT associated water entrainment

· Evaluate, recommend and implement measures to improve facility sanitation procedures and methods, production equipment cleanup practices and the design of work centers to enhance quality of production and sanitation standards in the facility.

· Complete handoff activities to complete necessary production runs necessary to meet the demands of the customer.

· Play a leadership role during the pre-op inspections to confirm reliability of the equipment that was cleaned during the shift.

· Trouble shoot equipment or process to determine what resources are necessary to continue operating the line or start the line up.

· Be the point of contact for any emergency or safety events that occur during the shift.

· Be the point of contact for any pre-op activities necessary to allow the line to perform as scheduled

· Communicate to site leadership the results from the shift in an end of shift report

Preferred Qualifications:

· 2 to 4 years of demonstrated Supervision in Sanitation, Production and or Maintenance

· Supervisory/Management Experience in a food processing facility.

· Solid knowledge of chemical use in the cleaning/sanitizing process to include swabbing techniques. Solid knowledge of bulk sanitation chemical delivery systems

· Sound understanding of GMP’s, SQF, PC, HACCP, EMP, OSHA and USDA regulations

· Demonstrated effective communication, organization, computer and prioritization skills.
