POSITION SUMMARY: Overall plant maintenance and installations.

As part of a team under the direction of the Lead Engineer will provide for the operation, care and maintenance of all plant processing equipment, packaging equipment, plant utilities, and building and grounds.

Employee shall follow Modesto Factory safety & environmental objectives & targets, follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs. Ensure compliance with all Nestlé, FDA, and NEE best practices and utilities quality requirements.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides maintenance to all plant processing and packaging equipment, plant utilities, and building and grounds, which include boilers, refrigeration, coolers, HVAC, air compressors, fire suppression system,  electrical/pneumatic controls and switch gear,  water system and sewer, vehicles and forklifts.
  • Provides technical knowledge and expertise to troubleshoot and solve problems of mechanical, electrical or pneumatic/hydraulic nature.
  • Responsible for the completion of a daily work report which describes the activities of the work performed.
  • Ensures that any parts which are used from the store room are recorded on the inventory sheets.
  • When requested for capital or special projects, follow through with the requesting of materials needed for the job. Installation and/or removal of equipment and utilities required for the project, and the fabrication of any required parts.
  • Employee must come to work promptly and regularly, work under the supervision of others, at times under stressful conditions, work within deadlines, and be able to work professionally with others at all times and in all situations.
    Welding experience is a plus.
  • Electrical knowledge is a plus.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of Utilities, Facilities or Production equipment maintenance.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Able to organize, coordinate, and direct users and teams.

Knowledge of TPM / PM Pillar Tools including:

  • Asset Management Software (SAP Preferred).
  • Breakdown Analysis.
  • Reliability Center Maintenance Practices.
  • FMEA.
  • PM Optimization.
  • Predictive Maintenance Technologies including (infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, etc…).
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for food safety.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient of computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the cost drivers of Maintenance in manufacturing operations.
  • Good working knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo) with the ability to mine and analyze data for trends/reports.

 

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma, and minimum of 3 years hands-on experience working in a Manufacturing environment.
