Job Summary: The Inventory Manager will support the Engineering and Operations teams by managing inventory goals and systems.  They will be responsible for managing, and coaching current employees working under them in the department, as well as working closely with other managers and other departments.  The Inventory Manager will manage functions such as material planning, warehousing, inventory control, master schedule, shipping/receiving, and budgeting.

 

Primary Functions

  1. Determines the production demand for raw materials and coordinates orders.
  2. Coordinates the usage, tracking, and disbursement of raw materials with on-site and off-site warehouses.
  3. Prepares requisitions, orders, and other documents for purchasing or requisitioning of raw materials.
  4. Maintains raw material allocation (RMA) process.
  5. Tracks raw material usage and compares them to production standards.
  6. Prepares and reviews cycle counting documents as necessary. 
  7. Tracks incoming raw pack material receipts for accuracy.
  8. Compiles data from inventory sources, contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports and writes, types, or enters information into computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, or other records.
  9. Keeps back order file in established sequence and releases back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available.

Requirements

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:   2 or more years of Supervisory experience, able to multi-task and work independently, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and general office skills.

Education:  Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Training/Skills:

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software.

Work Environment:    May be exposed to cold, wet, and noisy work environment within the production facility.  The noise level in the work environment is usually high to moderate.

Physical Demands:    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers. Stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30-40 pounds.
