Position Summary:

Successful candidate will be in charge of maintaining, repairing, installing, inspecting, and adjusting all of our HVAC systems.

Education & Training:

Certificate from college or technical school along with 3-5yrs related experience or 10yrs + field experience in the HVAC trade.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Bilingual a plus (Spanish and English)
  • Basic Computer Skills

Certifications / Licesnses / Registrations:

Drivers license
Ability to learn to drive a forklift

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with assigned supervisor and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in HVAC systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or system repair or replacement needs.
  • Inspects HVAC systems & components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventative maintenance.
  • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building & safety regulations.
  • Addresses system malfunctions resulting from preventative maintenance tasks with Electrical Technicians to isolate problems.
  • Assists Electrical Technicians to screw, bolt, rivet, weld, and braze parts to assemble structural and functional components such as motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring harnesses, valves, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, and pipes.
  • Able to cut, thread, gas weld, and connect pipe to functional components of HVAC systems.
  • Able to cut, bend, crimp sheet metal, installation of air ducts and associated sheet metal components.
  • Proficient with Insulating &  installing ductwork as needed.
  • Works along side Refrigeration vendors as repairs are needed.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts as needed.

  • Cognitive Skills
