HVAC Master Ammonia/Freon Technician at San Antonio TX

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of ammonia refrigeration on commercial low temperature cooler & freezer.
• Ensure continued production operation as it relates to refrigeration equipment.
• Dismantle malfunctioning system and test components using electrical mechanical and pneumatic testing equipment
• Responds to emergency Calls regarding refrigeration systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical demands with activity or condition existing a considerable amount of time include sitting, standing, bending, lifting and caring products.
• Ability to frequently lift or move 75 lbs. packages.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to 100+ degrees.
• Ability to work from elevated catwalks, aerial lift platforms, ladders and scissor lift

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of refrigeration and HVAC and utility equipment/systems. (RETA Certification – CARO and CIRO)
• EPA refrigerant recover certification.
• HAZMAT training certification preferred.
• Must be able to work in -40 to 100+ degree temperatures.
• Must be able to provide own hand tools.
• Must have working knowledge of Process Safety Management program (PSM) relative to Ammonia Refrigeration Systems
• Excellent organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Must pass drug screen, background (clear), MVR (clear), Pass Physical and all levels of PAT Test
• Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and 5 years of driving experience
• Some travel required.

Compensation: Hourly rate, overtime for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
