FSQ Process Technician at Elk Grove Village, IL

GENERAL SUMMARY

Grecian Delight Foods is the leading marketer and manufacturer of Greek and Mediterranean foods for foodservice, national chain, and retail grocery, specialty & warehouse club business. With two facilities in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Grecian Delight Foods manufactures and distributes specialty meats, flatbreads, dips, spreads, and sauces.

The FSQ Process Technician position controls, tests and identifies any problems relating to food safety and the quality of the product. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Handles process control in meat room, cooking room and packing (OTC)/shawarma room.
• Conducts in-line inspection of meat room and cook production which includes machinery speeds, mixing times and product weights.
• Monitors, reviews and verifies corrective action of HACCP program & Quality Plans.
• Runs fat and moisture analysis for all meat products.
• Monitors USDA Label control, CN program control and Halal product control.
• Oversees finish goods sampling, collects and reviews results, and releases finished goods.
• Assists USDA Inspector on pulling samples and provides them information.
• Updates HACCP, GMP, Quality Plans and FSQ programs as required by FSQ Director, USDA, or SQF guidelines.
• Acts as an advisor in receiving.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing environment and HACCP and Quality Plans.
• Must have USDA experience.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

Education

• 4 year college degree in related sciences.
• Must be HACCP trained.

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a cold environment.
