Ammonia Systems Technician
Job Summary: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Ammonia Systems Technician is responsible for ensuring the systems safe and reliable operation of utilities systems (Ammonia Refrigeration, Boilers, Compressed Air, and Water Supply). This entails completing utilities maintenance and operation tasks / processes; meeting all safety concerns; contribution toward installation work as it pertains to utilities systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform Ammonia Systems and Utility Systems (Boiler, Wastewater, compressed air, sprinkler system and hot water systems) established Preventative Maintenance and identify new PM activities, as needed.
Repair of Ammonia and Utility Systems related equipment
Analyze and solve electro/mechanical problems related to utilities
Continuous process improvement implementation and origination.
Assist in the developing the technical support systems.
Comply with plant regulatory programs such as Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP).
Support project management activity relative to utility systems.
Position Requirements:
“Hands on” mechanical experiences in the areas of ammonia refrigeration, natural gas fired boilers, and compressed air systems.
Working knowledge of Process Safety Management program (PSM) relative to Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
Experienced in writing Standard Operating Procedures for equipment.
Excellent organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively participate in problem solving meetings
Flexible/adaptable to changes in the business environment
Able to work collaboratively across functional boundaries
Must be able to read and follow blueprints, drawings and schematics
Familiar with PLC-s, process instrumentation, and process drawings
Experience in a CMMS environment, preferably MP2
Intermediate computer skills including; MS Office, Outlook, etc.
Must have strong communication skills
Education and Minimum Years of Experience:
High School degree or general education degree (GED)
2 - 5 years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in food industry
2 - 5 years mechanical experience in ammonia refrigeration
