Diversified Foods and Seasonings, LLC is seeking an experienced Ammonia Refrigeration System Operator for ammonia refrigeration system in our food production facility. This role will coordinate with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, production personnel, contractors, and engineering team to ensure that all ammonia refrigeration systems, equipment, building, and grounds are maintained in such a way as to safely provide refrigeration and other services to the product facility. The primary focus of the position is to operate and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all ammonia refrigeration system and production assets to ensure maximum uptime as well as ensure that repairs, and parts are ordered and installed in accordance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
Maintain and repair equipment to ensure maximum uptime of the equipment. Troubleshoot in a timely manner and be able to requisition parts and services.
Perform outside maintenance including refrigeration and wastewater.
Fabrication of parts, welding, electrical, and plumbing as well as the ability to read schematics and diagrams, use testing measure like volt meters, amp meters, lumen meters, rulers, tape measures, squares, tachometers, and gas meters.
Work on special projects as they arise.
Maintain personal GMPs.
Willingness to safely respond to and work with Anhydrous Ammonia on a regular basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of work experience with Anhydrous Ammonia systems.
RETA CARO or CIRO Certification Preferred
Understanding of Evaporators, Compressors, Vessels, Condenser towers, and refrigeration controls.
Understanding of following SOP’s and PSM regulations.
Understanding of 480 3 phase power and controls.
5S, proactive, CMMS knowledge.
Team player, self-starter, safety minded.
Must possess basic computer skills, e.g., Microsoft Office.
Must have intermediate math and intermediate reading skills
