Supervises the following Positions: Accounting Specialist, Cost Accounting Specialist, and Accounting Assistant.

POSITION SUMMARY The Financial Controller is responsible for all aspects of financial and fiscal management including forecasting, budgeting, general ledger, AR, AP, payroll, cash flow, reporting, risk management, lender relations, and taxes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Manage receivables, debt obligations, payroll, taxes, payables, reporting and financial statements to ensure they are handled in a timely manner.

2. Oversee preparation, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other reports to assess and ensure accuracy and conformance.

3. Ensure that all monthly, quarterly, and year end reconciliations are completed.

4. Implement and manage accounting controls and records to ensure standards are met.

5. Maintain the standard chart of accounts and managerial profit/cost centers.

6. Monitor debt, equity and working capital levels. Communicate and provide a report to management regarding business finances on a monthly basis.

7. Maintain financial records on a GAAP accrual basis.

8. Manage entity consolidations of complex enterprises.

9. Comply with local, state, and federal laws, government reporting requirements, and tax filings.

10. Monitor business trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and other obligations to project future revenues and experiences or to provide advice.

11. Conduct financial analyses for capital investments, pricing, leasing decisions, and contract negotiations.

12. Conduct valuation of assets at both GAAP cost and market value.

13. Develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts including variance reports and updates.

14. Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

15. Manage audit preparation to ensure all required documents are prepared in advance. Address auditor’s questions and requests. Communicate audit results to management.

16. Establish and enforce cut-off periods for the closing process.

17. Ensure all accounting records meet audit standards and create a solid audit trail.

18. Develop, implement, update, and audit policies and SOP’s that ensure proper compliance with legal and company guidelines regarding document processing, employment law, and financial reporting.

19. Provide coaching and training to ensure employees are developing skills necessary to position.

20. Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all designated employees.

21. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance and/or comparable experience.

• Min. 5 years of experience in a senior financial leadership position.

• Must have experience in managerial accounting (cost centers), cash flow, benchmarking, developing and managing budgets and improving processes.

• Solid understanding of GAAP.

• Audit management experience (on either side).

• Full responsibility for financial management of rapidly growing enterprise.

• Extensive cost accounting experience

• Strategic planning and business plan implementation

• Excellent analytical skills

• CPA license preferred
