Role and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain proper operation, maintenance, and repair of the equipment and machinery related to the refrigeration systems.

 

Specific duties include:

·         Proper operation, repair and maintenance of the 3,700 hp ammonia refrigeration system.

·         Train new refrigeration employees.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

Physical Requirements

·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. 

·         The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. 

·         The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

·         The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

·         3 to 5 years of verifiable ammonia refrigeration experience.

·         Knowledge in the maintenance and repair of 3,700 hp ammonia refrigeration system.

·         Understanding all aspects of PSM and RMP programs.

·         Knowledge of electrical control circuits, purgers, plate and frame heat exchangers, blast cell and plate freezers, brine tanks, box chillers, ice machines, and ice delivery systems.

·         RETA CIRO license strongly preferred.

·         Must possess the ability to stay alert and aware within their surroundings.

·         Knowledge of creating and maintaining a safe work environment.

·         Ability to identify, correct, and report safety hazards.

·         Pleasant and professional manner in dealing with co-workers, supervisors, employees, outside agencies, and vendors.

·         Prompt arrival and attendance. 

·         Ability to communicate in the English language, comprehending, speaking, reading and writing in English.

·         Ability to function as part of the team, with co-workers, supervisor, and other departments.

·         Must be willing to work and live in a multi-cultural team environment.

·         Personal tools are required.
